Market Ticket Man

Was grocery shopping at Fotan and there was this guy sitting at a wooden office desk with a stereo next to him playing 90s Canto music. He was looking bore and his job is to stamp tickets for people who drove to the market to shop.

Looks like a nice job, don't do anything, but then, that's isn't the best job there is, it must be super boring.

So...here is the story.

Young man sitting at the desk listening to inspiring Canto pop from the 90s. This is what I do.
Some people are envy of my job, $40 per hour just to sit and do nothing and listen to music. But the thing is that I can't do anything. I can't check my phone. I can't read a book. I have to be this. They are encouraging people to shop here so they are giving people parking voucher if they bought over $100 worth of food here. They figured it was cheaper to hire a guy like me than to put a machine here. So here I am. $40 an hour here, sitting here, doing nothing much. Hardly anybody park here to shop, most of the customers are in the neighborhood. I was just doing this to get some money, and it's right by my house. I came here at 6am and all the way until 7pm when the market closes each day. 45 min lunch break in between at 2pm. 12 hours. 12 hours time $40 is $840 a day. Not bad really, not bad at all for what I do. A lot better than many people.

People think this job is easy but they just don't know how hard it is to do nothing for 12 hours, and not fall asleep.

It haven't been easy to hire people for this job, one being it can't pay too well, and it's contract, actually it is suppose to be part-time so they don't have to pay me anything like MPF or anything. For me it's a temp job so I am okay with it.

Sometimes i feel like people care more about dogs and cats, their pets, then their fellow human beings.

I wonder when we will be replaced by a machine, but I don't think they would invest in a machine to do this job.

Probably need to lower the salary* not very realistic.

I have asked my dad to stop paying for my things. I can afford my life. I wish my dad put some more pressure on me.
"Dad, can you stop paying for me and chopsticking me food? Stop serving me dad. Can you stop giving me money," I told him one day.

"Okay," dad replied, "But I am not going to push you, you have to do that yourself."

Tutoring
I make some extra money by tutoring and it is a job that actually somewhat make use of my skills, especially my intellectual and English skill...and my patience.

Sitting with a 11 years old kid at table trying to get the kid to do work.
"So, this and that....what does that tell you about...?"
The kid just want the answer from him. Alan gives up and tells him the answer with the explanation.
"So, do you want to write that down, I just told you the answer."
I don't know what's wrong with this kid, he ain't dumb, he is just, don't want to do work, want me to do it for him. His parents are separated. His dad runs a business in China, his mom is quite young, she could be my girlfriend.
Do I enjoy it? A little. Not really, but the money is good. $400 an hour.

I studied Art Theory in the United States. School was a different time. I felt great there, the teachers pampered us and we discussed about art theories like we were gods, dissing the theories of the great men and women before us as if we would better them in just a few years. That didn't happen.

Once I came back, people were telling me, hey your English is good, you could teach English. Eww, yucky.

It's been a while, not that I haven't been thinking or writing, but just have forgotten and been actually writing things down physically on a notebook.

I just lost my idea. Bummer.

I had an idea yesterday, it's call ZERO, about starting from beginning, zero again.
